BuffaloData: Service Creation via .Net Templates

Details

We are going slightly off-topic for this one, we hope you enjoy!

Dotnet tempates are a great way to bootstrap your .NET service-creation, but they're not just limited to the .NET world – their usefulness could extend to templating out pipelines, applications in other languages, or anything else that can be opened with a text editor. They can be easily packaged and distributed to others for re-use and they are extremely easy to set up.

In this session, I'd like to demo creating a new API template, complete with an optional build pipeline and test project, and then using that template to create a ready-to-ship solution. Additionally, I'd also like to use this time to highlight some pain-points and gotchas should anyone else decide to use this for their own endeavors.

Our speaker this evening will be Olga Nelioubov. Olga is a Lead Software Engineer at Liazon/Willis Towers Watson with a prior background in infrastructure. Her current focus is to facilitate solutions to developer and platform needs within her organization. She is one of the organizers of the upcoming DevOpsDays Buffalo conference which focuses on topics ranging from software development to infrastructure and everything in between. Additionally, she is a co-founder and mentor at Inclusive Tech Buffalo which is a group that strives to make the tech community more accessible to women and underrepresented groups. Furthermore, during her spare time, Olga is a photographer, aerialist, and a mother of ferrets. She likes Star Trek.

Participation is completely free thanks to our sponsors: Stark & Wayne (https://www.starkandwayne.com/) and Rooftop Data (https://rooftopdata.com/).
