BUGSS is a non-profit public laboratory that provides lab access so that anyone can safely and affordably investigate the living world. We offer classes, seminars, and group projects to help all those interested to learn about the latest and greatest in science.

Myco Memoria
Baltimore Under Ground Science Space, 101 N Haven St #105, Baltimore, MD, USJoin us for a hands-on workshop where we use mushroom materials to create memorial objects.
Join us at Baltimore Underground Science Space (BUGSS) for a foray into mycology. Work with local artists Mantis Harper Blanco and Rachel Rusk to honor your memories through a foundational practice in casting red reishi mycelium with treasured imagery provided by the participants.
Learn the fundamentals of fungal growth and explore the innovative methods implemented in industry today to produce goods and architecture under mindful practice.This course is designed for participants ages 18 and up. Note that this class meets on both March 28th and April 11th with different materials on each day. Your ticket covers both days.

Science Slam!

When else can you learn about the remarkable science that is going on in Charm City? Come join us for an afternoon of 5 min science talks from local scientists and support their efforts to communicate their work!
BUGSS will host 6 or so local scientists (grad students, postdocs, citizen scientists, etc) to present their work in 5 minutes. We give prizes to the talks that are most creative and best communicated! This is a great way to connect with others, learn diverse topics of science going on right here in Charm City, gain communication skills and experience, enhance chances of collaboration and emerging projects and ideas.Want to share your science?
