Details
Let's work a shift in the Day One Relief warehouse to help with the Tropical Storm Chantal response! We can get beer and snacks across the street at Pony after!
***RSVP by 8/30 — there's room for 12 of us***
What we’ll be doing:
Their biggest need right now is organizing donations in the warehouse. This includes inventory, sorting, and packing items for distribution. Volunteers should be able to lift at least 15 lbs.
If anyone is interested in making some phone calls, please post in the comments! This need changes regularly, but might include calling community members they're working with to coordinate supply needs or reaching out to local tradespeople to see if they can donate time to help families rebuild.
What to bring & wear:
- Weather-appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting dirty (the warehouse is air-conditioned, but can still be a little warm in 90°+ weather)
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Work gloves (optional – they’ll also have some available)
- Water and any snacks you might need
Other details:
- There is free parking available in front of and on the left side of the building
- Please use the door at the front of the warehouse (look for the Day One Relief banner)
- Restrooms are available on-site

***
Day One Relief supports Frontline organizations that are often ignored when it comes to recovery efforts after events like the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Chantal.
They seek out those who have the hardest time receiving supplies after disasters and work to provide them with the tools they need to survive after their lives have been turned upside down.
