Join us for a rewarding uphill hike with incredible views over Cape Town, the ocean and the surrounding mountains. It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself, get outdoors and share the experience with the Bumbuntu community.
The hike takes approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on the group's pace. Once we reach the top, we can take the cable car down, weather and operating conditions permitting. If everyone is feeling adventurous and conditions allow, we can also consider hiking back down via an alternative route.

I discovered this gem a few years ago, and was once again mesmarized by the beauty of Cape Town’s surroundings. When launching Bumbuntu I knew this was a place which i wanted to share with everyone. In 2023, we went on a weekend trip to McBains with a small crew. This time we’ve booked the entire accommodation and have space for 30 people.

Only a 1.5-hour drive from Cape Town, a beautiful scenic route through breathtaking landscapes will take you to the iconic Bainskloof Pass.
Our home base for the weekend will be McBains Cabins, located at the summit of Bainskloof Pass. Expect a weekend filled with:

🧘 Yoga
🎲 Games
🎶 And maybe… a little party 😉
It’s a true paradise! ✨ The starting point of the famous Bainskloof Waterfall hike is right at the accommodation, so adventure is literally on your doorstep.
