About us
Bustlin' Brussels Balades is a walking group for people who enjoy getting out, exploring somewhere new, and having a good beer at the end of the day.
Most walks will take place on Saturdays and last around three or four hours, although every walk will be a little different. Sometimes we'll start in Brussels and walk to a brewery. Other times we'll take a train somewhere and spend the day exploring a different part of Belgium before stopping at a brewery. Some walks may include one brewery, while others may include two.
The focus is on getting out and walking together. The brewery is part of the destination, but the walk itself is just as important. There won't be a guided tour or a set itinerary to follow, and you don't need to know anything about beer to join. It's simply a chance to spend a Saturday exploring, meet some people, and enjoy a few beers along the way.
The walks will range from routes through Brussels to longer walks through towns and countryside further afield. Some will be easy-going, while others may cover a fair distance, but each event will include details about the route and what to expect beforehand.
Whether you've lived in Brussels for years, are new to the city, or just enjoy walking and discovering new places, you're welcome to join.

Bustlin' Brussels Beer Balades #3: Laeken (Araucaria) to Grimbergen Microbrewery
Araucaria, 1020 Brussels, Belgium, Brussels, BEBustlin' Brussels Beer Balades #3: Laken (Araucaria) to Grimbergen Microbrewery and Abbey
Join us for a relaxed 7 km walk from Laeken to Microbrouwerij Grimbergen, with the option to finish the walk with a brewery experience and a taste of Grimbergen beer.
We'll meet at Araucaria tram stop and make our way north toward Grimbergen. The walk is a chance to get out on foot, explore a different part of the Brussels area, and enjoy some time outdoors with fellow walking and beer enthusiasts.
I'm a fellow beer lover and walking enthusiast, and I'll be leading the walk and guiding everyone along the route. I've put the route together to make for an enjoyable journey on foot, with the destination being just as much a part of the experience as the walk itself.
Our destination is Microbrouwerij Grimbergen, near Grimbergen Abbey. The brewery offers The Grimbergen Experience, a self-guided tour with a tasting that explores the story behind Grimbergen's brewing heritage. It's an optional activity that you can book independently, either in advance or on the day, subject to availability. You can find more information about The Grimbergen Experience here.
You don't need to be a serious hiker or a beer expert — just come ready to walk, explore a little, and enjoy the company along the way.
