See all- Kyoto Riichi Mahjong *No gambling \(^o^)/C2 Kyoto, Kyoto
- The game starts at 7:00PM (doors open around 6:30PM).
- Please arrive on time so other players don’t have to wait.
- Please avoid cancelling right before the event, as it makes it difficult for people on the waiting list to join in time.
- No gambling or smoking.< For new participants >
Most of our regular members play at a steady pace.
To keep the game enjoyable for everyone, we ask that new players have already played Japanese Riichi Mahjong online (e.g., Mahjong Soul, Riichi City, Tenhou, etc.) enough to understand the basic yaku and the flow of play.
You don't need to know how to calculate the points at all! We’re happy to help with that during the game :)Before the event, I will send first-time participants a direct message (DM) on meetup.com to confirm attendance and experience level. If I don’t receive a reply, you may be asked to observe the first session.
Why am I doing this event? Because I’m addicted to playing Riichi Mahjong at a real table and want to share that fun with others!
Let’s enjoy chatting, drinking, and playing together in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. This is the BEST YouTube channel to learn to play Riichi Mahjong on a real table:
https://www.youtube.com/@LightGrunty/playlistsFee : Free. Drink order appreciated (all sales support the event).
No outside food or drinks, please.
We also have a cute dog at the venue :)< Note for advanced Japanese mahjong players >
This event is designed to welcome people who may not be fluent in Japanese or who feel hesitant about visiting a traditional mahjong parlor (雀荘). We prioritize participation for such individuals to make it more accessible.
We hope you understand the purpose of this event and appreciate your cooperation. - Charlie’s Mash Fest x 2XKO (September)C2 Kyoto, Kyoto
💡 CONCEPT
Like fighting games? Been playing for a long time and want to show off your skills? Never tried them but always thought they looked cool? Somewhere in between?
This event might be for you! 🫵
Brought to you by your Local Fighting Game Nerd Charlie™️(with C2 Kyoto being the venue), this event was made to give fighting game lovers or soon-to-be a space to play and/or compete together in a friendly and relaxed environment. We run a small tournament bracket if there's enough people.
This time, the event will be featuring 2XKO, the newest fighting game from Riot Games (set in the universe of League of Legends) as its main game!
If that sounds interesting, you can find details below! 👇

🗺️ GETTING THERE
- C2 Kyoto
- 333 Kagiyacho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, 600-8178 <-- Warning, map apps can sometimes give the wrong location, so be sure to search for C2 Kyoto directly or use our link, the correct location is directly 1km north of Kyoto station.
🍻 SPACE
We can use the ground floor space at C2 Kyoto thanks to Seth and Akiko’s kindness. The space is split in 3 areas:
- The Lounge, where you can have a drink, on the big couch and watch some games on the big screen. If there is a tournament, we play the important matches there!
- The Fighting Ground, where a few setups are available to play fighting games. We run most tournament sets there if we do run one. Otherwise, practice sets or casual games, everything goes!
Note: most machines run the tournament game (2XKO) for matches or freeplay, but if you want to switch the game feel free to ask the staff. - The Retro Area, where you can play fighting game classics on the original console! Please try them out =)
⚔️ TOURNAMENT
- We can run a bracket with up to 16 teams of 1 or 2 players. If less than 8 people/teams are signed up, we cancel the tournament and just run free play.
- The tournament will be run on 2XKO, Riot Game's latest 2V2 free-to-play fighting game (still in beta).
- Since the game allows two players to control a team of two characters, you can sign up alone or team up with another player.
- If you are interested in entering the tournament, you can find the rule set below.
