Bocce Ball at Cubs Baseball Diamond (NW), Drinks After

Details
*This event is weather-dependent and will be cancelled if bad weather is forecasted.*
Bocce is an outdoor game adopted from Italy that is a type of lawn bowling or lawn curling. It involves throwing a weighted hand-sized ball at a target (called a "jack") placed in a field or lawn. Once you arrive at this event, Organizer Brian will divide the group up into 2 teams, and we'll each take turns to see if we can score points for our team. First team to 12 points wins the match! We'll be getting together as a group at a local park and play a couple of matches over 1-2 hours. After we're finished, we'll go a couple of blocks away to Brentwood Shopping Centre and have drinks at Kilkenny Irish Pub.
Both beginners and seasoned players are welcome!

Other considerations:
- This event is weather-dependent. It will be cancelled if it is raining (or snowing!) or too cold. Keep an eye on the forecast.
- Brian is bringing his own bocce kit for the participants, along with his own tape measure to judge close calls. Brian will be teaching and establishing the rules before play.
- Due to the nature of this event, you will be doing some outdoor walking from location to location on uneven grass and throwing weighted balls. Do not attempt to participate if you have any issues with physical limitations.
- Street parking is free at the park--plenty of spots. Pub parking is free.
- As the event date approaches and you find out later you can no longer attend, if you are either on the Attending List or the Wait List, please revisit this Meetup page and change your RSVP to Not Attending.
- "No Shows" (those that sign up but then don't show up) will be noted. Please respect other members who are on the Wait List.
- If you are running late or otherwise need to contact the event organizer, please post a message in the Comments below. You can catch up and join us after game start if you are running late.
- If you are feeling ill, please do not attempt to participate. Stay home and get better.
- Be respectful to others and observe personal boundaries. This includes the venue staff.
- If there are any concerns with another member's behaviour, let the event organizer know so this can be dealt with immediately.
