Tobogganing @ Confederation Park
Details
"If you choose not to find joy in the snow, you will have less joy in your life but still the same amount of snow."
Join us for an afternoon of FUN by having the quintessential "Canuck" experience of tobogganing on the awesome hills found within Confederation Park.
Tobogganing / sledding is one of the best things about winter as it just makes you feel like a kid again, and is an entertaining way to work off our holiday season excesses. (If you can't get your hands on a sled, a large piece of cardboard can do the trick, but I'm sure those of us who have a sled would be happy to share.) :-)
Let's meet up at the top of the hill that we'll slide down, located at the very end of 28th Avenue N.W. There should be residential street parking along the cul-de-sac, or along the block.
Those interested afterward can head the few blocks over to The 4th Spot Restaurant & Bar (26th Avenue & 4th Street NW) for appies & ales and some socializing.

PLEASE NOTE:
- This event is pending temperature and snow conditions. It will be postponed for another weekend if it's colder than -10C, if there's not much snow on the hill, or it's too slushy.
- It goes without saying, but be sure to dress appropriately for the conditions. If you don't have snow or ski pants, then dress in layers to help keep warm and relatively dry:
- Base Layer (Next to Skin): Thermal underwear (synthetic or wool) to wick sweat.
- Mid Layer (Insulation): Fleece pants or joggers for warmth, as it's removable if you get too hot.
- Outer Layer (Protection): Waterproof rain pants are a great, cheaper alternative to snow pants; they block wind and keep snow out.
- What to Avoid:
- Jeans/Cotton: They get soaked, stay wet, and make you extremely cold and miserable.
SOME CONSIDERATIONS:
- As the event date approaches and you find out later you can no longer attend, if you are either on the Attending List or the Wait List, please revisit this Meetup page and change your RSVP to Not Attending.
