Live Tribute to the "Legends of Jazz" @ Prohibition Lounge

"Another year older, wiser, and unapologetically me."

I invite you to help me celebrate "another trip around the sun" (albeit four days after) by enjoying a swanky night out on the town listening to the awesome music I grew up with (thanks to having an "older Dad"), and later swing danced / Lindy-hopped MANY a night to... Jazz, baby, JAZZ.

Rewind to the 1920s Prohibition Era when alcohol was banned but the party never stopped. Underground (literally & figuratively) "Speakeasy" bars were booming where the flappers were dancing the Charleston and the illegal drinks were always flowing.

When you walk through the Prohibition Lounge doors, you'll be taken back in time to an authentic feeling vintage 1920s Speakeasy bar. We'll enjoy an evening of timeless jazz vocals, SUPER FUN cocktails (that tell a story about an actual event that occurred during the prohibition era), and unmistakable late-night Speakeasy energy. Delicious nibbles are also available if you're feeling a bit peckish.

From the first note to the final bow, this is your invitation to experience jazz the way it was meant to be felt: intimate, soulful, and unforgettable.

DRESS TO IMPRESS!
- Please dress in your swanky evening attire (dresses / jacket & tie).
- EVEN BETTER if you come dressed in 1920s garb (i.e. flappers / fedoras).

WHEN:
- Sunday, May 31
- 7:15 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
- We NEED to enter the lounge together as a group in order to be seated at our table for our 7:30p reservation, so we'll meet up inside their lobby between 7:15p - 7:30p.

You’ll find the entrance in the back alley just off the corner of 17th Avenue & 6th Street SW. Look for the steel door and head inside, down the stairs, and through the wooden clad door straight ahead.

PARKING:
FREE street parking available on Sundays

TICKETS / BILLING / REFUNDS:
- $33.40 TOTAL (includes tax & Eventbrite fees)
- I will pre-purchase our group tickets to be seated together.
- RSVP BY FRIDAY due to limited large group seating capacity
- As soon as you RSVP, please immediately INTERAC eTransfer $33.40 to me at: leanne@mackenziecreativeservices.com
- Refunds available (less Eventbrite fees) 7 days prior to event. If there's a waitlist, first try to sell your ticket there. If no takers and it's after Eventbrite's 7-day refund cut-off, you'll be S.O.L.

SOME CONSIDERATIONS:
- As the event date approaches and you find out later you can no longer attend, if you are either on the Attending List or the Wait List, please revisit this Meetup page and change your RSVP to Not Attending.
- "No Shows" (those that sign up but then don't show up) will be noted. Please respect other members who are on the Wait List that want to attend.
- If you are running late or otherwise need to contact the event organizer, please post a message in the Comments below.
- If you are feeling ill, please do not attempt to participate. Stay home and get better.
- Be respectful to others and observe personal boundaries. This includes the venue staff.
- If there are any concerns with another member's behaviour, let the event organizer know so this can be dealt with immediately.
