This series will feature a lunch, brunch, or dinner somewhere new (to me), every 1-2 months. I'm hoping to try find some unique places and hidden gems. That means I haven't been there before, so there may be some surprises (hopefully good ones!) along the way.

Many of these restaurants are small and independently run, so please be fair to the restaurant and other attendees by updating your RSVP at least 48 hours in advance.

Our first event in this series is: Caravan Cafe
Caravan Cafe is a small, woman-owned Uzbek kitchen in southeast Calgary serving the food we grew up with — Uzbek classics and Eastern European comfort food, cooked the way our grandmothers did.
The old Silk Road ran through our cuisine long before anyone thought to write it down. Dishes travel to our tables from Uzbekistan and the rest of the Silk Road — flaky somsa (samsa), a proper palov (plov) on the weekends, manti folded one at a time, hand-pulled lag'mon noodles, borsht on a cold Calgary afternoon.
We keep the menu short so we can cook it well. Nothing leaves the kitchen that we wouldn't serve our own family.

Other considerations:
- Manage your RSVP. As the event date approaches and you find out later you can no longer attend, if you are either on the Attending List or the Wait List, please revisit this Meetup page and change your RSVP to Not Attending.
- "No Shows" (those that sign up but then don't show up) will be recorded. Organizers are keeping track of event No Shows.
- Please respect other members who are on the Wait List that want to attend
- If you are running late or otherwise need to contact the event organizer, please post a message in the Comments below.
- If you are feeling ill, please do not attempt to participate. Stay home and get better.
- Be respectful to others and observe personal boundaries. This includes the venue staff.
- If there are any concerns with another member's behaviour, let the event organizer know so this can be dealt with immediately.
