November: Pugly Sweaters-Ugly Sweaters - SAVE the DATE
Hi Everyone, For Calgary Pugsters - November Pugly Sweaters / Ugly Sweaters meetup we will be doing a combined fundraising event with Grumble Farm to raise funds for Grumble Farm's vet bills related to their pugs in need. All proceeds raised at this event will go towards the vet bills that Grumble Farm incurs whenever they bring a pug into the rescue. Our joint event will be held at a NEW location: Central Bark Doggy Daycare -[masked] Ave SW, from 1-3pm. Funds raised at this meetup will be donated to help pay for vet costs for the rescued pugs of Grumble Farm. These pugs are rescued from situations of abuse, neglect, owner surrender, etc. The Pugs come into the rescue in various conditions and some require significant care, but all are always looked at by a vet as soon as they enter the rescue. As a result, vet bills can be costly and the purpose of this event is to raise funds to keep Grumble Farm open to Pugs in need within Calgary. We want to maintain Grumble Farms ability to give each Pug that enters Grumble Farm with the very best vet care possible. As this is a fundraiser all members will be required to pay a meetup fee of $10.00 for the first dog and $3 for additional dogs of the same household. Please note that a family resides at the same residence. If you come with a friend this is not considered a family so please pay your $10.00 as the proceeds go towards Pugs in need within Grumble Farm's Rescue. We will be offering the following at our event: There will be photos with Santa all proceeds will go towards Grumble Farm. Cash required. We will also be holding a silent auction, so definitely makes sure you bring your wallets :). Cash required, for larger items, we will accept email money transfers. If you want to contribute an item to the silent auction please contact Brandy at Grumble Farm via email at [masked] As well please bring all your bottles and cans on the day of the event as we will be collecting the bottles and cans and the proceeds will be given to Grumble Farm. If you have any old tins full of change (including PENNIES - yes that's right the banks will take back pennies for us) that you don't feel like wrapping up, please bring these as we will be doing a "change drive". We will collect all the change from your unwanted change jars and the proceeds with go towards Grumble Farms Vet bills. This meetup will be from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. You are welcome to come for the entire time or drop in anytime between then. If your pug is nervous around large groups, we suggest coming a little later, around 2 pm, when the crowd starts to thin out a little. The same rules apply that you are responsible for looking after and cleaning/picking up after your dog at each event. I would also ask that people do not bring treats or feed other peoples' dogs at meetup events, as some have allergies and may get sick. (Please note each owner is responsible for the care of his or her dog during all gathering/meetups. Any incidences that may occur as a result of attending a Calgary Pugsters gathering cannot be held against the Meetup group or its organizer. By attending a gathering/meetup you acknowledge this fact and will not hold liability against anyone other than yourself.

What we're about

We are a social group who look forward to getting together once a month for a Pug Playgroup so our breed can play & socialize with other precious Pugs! Pugs are such a special breed with a larger-than-life personality which other pug owners can appreciate & admire.

Our mission to is develop a friendly, knowledgeable community which is both social and informative. Our Pug lovers can attend playgroups indoors, develop a social network of friendship based on our love, devotion, and dedication to the Pug breed.

We also attend events sponsored with other small dog groups, and participate in local Calgary dog events.

All members are encouraged to post on our message board to introduce themselves, so we can get to know everyone in person and online.
