Mount Sparrowhawk

Details

Hiking to Mount Sparrowhawk, a few different segments throughout the long hike, suited for experienced hikers.
The trail starts with a gradual incline through the forest, and then turns into a steep ascent through the trees.
The trail returns to a moderate steepness through rocky areas and ascends to the upper base of Read's Tower. There is a final long stretch of loose rock before reaching the first weather station. The trail becomes a short steep scramble to the summit and second weather station. The scrambling is technically easy and low in exposure. Breaking through and beyond the tree-line requires a ton of energy, so be sure to be prepared with plenty of water and snacks.
Mandatory equipment: Helmet, Glasses, Hiking boots, 3-5 litres of H20
Suggested equipment: Poles, short gators, micro-spikes, electrolytes and lunch
