Buck’s Landing Native Plant Garden Work Day
Details
Buck’s Landing Native Plant Garden Work Day
Thursday, April 2, 2026, 10am-12pm
Leader: Aja Wylder, Marin County Parks Nursery Manager
Marin CNPS Coordinator: Caroline Christman and Lewis Randall
Location: Buck’s Landing, Santa Venetia
Join us to care for a new native garden at Buck’s Landing, a public picnic area near Gallinas Creek marsh. The garden serves as beautification of this sweet picnic area, a potential pollinator hub, and an opportunity to educate visitors on using native plants in the garden. Marin County Parks volunteers grew plants for this garden in our local nursery and installed them in fall 2024. The garden now needs a bit of maintenance and love to keep annual grasses and other weeds at bay and allow the native plants to thrive.
The work area is easily accessible, with no poison oak, and even ground. Marin County staff will provide tools and gloves. Bring a reusable water bottle, sun and wind protection, long pants, and sturdy close-toed shoes.
Limit: 15 attendees
Heavy rain cancels; cancellations will be posted on Meetup.
Directions: Meet at Buck’s landing in Santa Venetia. Be aware that the road leading to the site (off N. San Pedro Rd.) is gravelly and pothole-strewn, so please drive carefully! There is plenty of parking at the site.
