The mission of CNPS is to conserve California native plants and their natural habitats; and increase understanding, appreciation, and horticultural use of native plants.
Join some of the Mount Lassen Chapter activities which include:
Year round field trips, <br>Native plant sales, <br>Demonstration native plant gardens, <br>Monthly meetings featuring knowledgeable and interesting guest speakers, <br>Controlling invasive plants, <br>Conservation of rare native plants and habitats, <br>Educational outreach to school groups and adults at public events.

Join us for a guided hike along the Reflection Lake and Lily Pond Trail where we will explore the native flora and identify various plants along the way. Meet at Chico Park& Ride at 8:30 am and bring water, lunch or snacks, mosquito and sun protection. Wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. If time permits we may also explore along the northern shore of Manzanita Lake.

Shrubs And Trees Along the Shores of Paradise Lake
Walk along the east shore of Paradise Lake from the north
parking lot to the picnic site at the main entrance. It is a level
trail of three miles out and back. Along the way we will
identify and examine hardwoods and conifers, manzanitas,
willows, hazelnut bushes and red berries of honeysuckle. Who knows, there may also be a few late season flowers that weathered the hot, dry summer. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring insect/sun protection, water and lunch/snack.Meet at Chico Park & Ride, west lot in time to leave at 9 am. Waivers are required.
