"The Trinity Alps are a mysterious alpine paradise that offers up some of the western United States' most spectacular, rugged and wild terrain. From unusual red peaks to vast stands of virgin timber to jagged granite turrets, few places offer such limitless vistas, spectacular peaks, rugged landscapes, varieties of terrain and biodiversity and sense of vastness as the Trinities. The Trinity Alps is a vast wilderness, encompassing 525,627 acres over parts of three national forests. Little is visible from roads. In truth, a very small part of the wilderness is practically explored on day hikes. The Trinities are a backpacker's wilderness, with over 600 miles of trail."

On Saturday we will hike to Boulder Lake (6070 ft elevation) from the Boulder Lake trailhead, then continue cross-country to Tapie Lake (6507 ft) and Found Lake (6856 ft) depending on terrain condition. If condition isn't suitable we will explore Little Boulder Lake.

We will camp at Bushytail Campground on the west shore of Trinity Lake. Campground has coin-operated showers.

Directions To Bushytail Campground:
From Sacramento take I-5 North to Redding, take Hwy 299 West for 29 miles, turn right on Trinity Dam Road for 4.6 miles, turn left on Lewiston Rd for 0.7 mile, turn left on Rush Creek Rd for 8.4 miles, then turn right on Hwy 3 North for 9.3 miles to Granite Peak Rd. Turn right for 0.1 miles and follow sign to Bushytail Campground on your left. It takes 3 and half hours to 4 hours from Sacramento. From the Bay Area take I-80 East toward Sacramento, then I-505 North, then I-5 North, then follow directions above. It takes 4 - 4.5 hours from the Bay Area under normal traffic conditions.

**We need campfire wood – please ask around and let me know if you have access to cheap campfire wood.**

Max number of people: 18

Max number of vehicles: 2 per camp site. Additional vehicle may be parked nearby.

Dogs: Allowed.

Price/Permits: $15 per person. Prepay to hold camping spot using paypal, to gordonye@hotmail.com.

Weather that will cancel: Rain & Wind

Food/Water: Each guest has choice of preparing own food or dine at nearby towns. Bring lunch and drink for the Saturday hike.

Other notes: Site has fire ring and picnic table. Facilities include flush toilets and potable water.
