Kathina Ceremony

Please join us for the annual robe offering in Camarillo. Below is the program schedule.

07:00 a.m. - Offering Breakfast to the Sangha
08:30 a.m. - Kathina Parade

• Please gather in front of the monastic residence.

09:15 a.m. - Dyeing of the Robe
09:45 a.m. - Please be seated in the shrine room.
10:00 a.m. - Ceremony of Offering the Kathina Robe to the Sangha

• All offerings to the Buddha should be placed on the offering table.
• Handing over of the robes to devotees and guests.

10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. - Main Ceremony

• Welcome
• Guided Meditation (Loving Kindness)
• Administering the Five Precepts and Taking the Three Refuges
• Devotions and offerings to the Buddha
• Dedication of the Kathina Robe and other requisites to the Sangha
• Handing over of the robes to the Mahasangha
• Dhamma Talks (Sinhala / English)
• Blessings (Tibetan, Vietnamese, English and Pali)
• Dedication of merits and water-pouring ceremony
• Words of Appreciation

11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Lunch and Clean-up

• Offering of lunch to the mondastic Sangha
• Opening of the buffet for members and guests
• Offering of Pirikara to the Sangha
• Tidying and cleaning
