It's easy...

  1. download the iNaturalist app
  2. find interesting plants, animals, birds, insects, trees, etc. and take a picture (as long as it's "wild", sorry, no pets, street trees, garden plants, or little brothers....)
  3. the app will help you identify your photo observation
  4. upload it and see how many more observations you can make

You can visit one of the many Cambridge trails, parks, or natural areas or join the Cambridge City Green volunteers on April 25th at 2:30pm - 4pm at Victoria Park (meet in the playground parking lot across from 105 Salisbury and then we'll take off through the forest trails. CANCELLED IF RAINING.

Here are some suggestions for natural areas around Cambridge where you could make observations:

Preston:

  • Riverside Park
  • confluence of Grand and Speed Rivers / Linear Park

Hespeler:

  • Hespeler Mill Pond, osprey platform
  • Mill Pond subdivision ponds
  • Mill Run Trail
  • Hespeler Woodlot

West Galt:

  • Victoria Park (Galt)
  • Devil's Creek Natural Area
  • Willard Park forest
  • Riverbluffs Park (Cambridge Pollinator Preserve)

East Galt:

  • Franklin Pond
  • Duncan Ferguson Homestead park
  • Portuguese Swamp / Hillborn Knoll Region forest
  • Lumb Dr. Wetland (stormwater pond)
  • Churchill Park

Blair:

  • Moyer's Landing / Fountain St. Soccer Complex

Central:

  • Dumfries Conservation Area
