Learn about the trout release program and help
release the trout into the creek!

Each year the Ministry of Natural Resources, GRCA, City and local residents and volunteers release 500 brown trout into Mill Creek in Soper Park. The fish come from the Ministry's hatchery and are released as part of their mandate to encourage urban fishing experiences.

Fish are provided in small buckets to volunteers to distribute up and down the stream in the park.

Dress for the weather and fish splashing.

Hatchery truck timing is estimated for 11 am but may be later as it makes stops and travels from other areas along the way so volunteers should be prepared to wait if it is delayed.

Meet in the Soper Park parking lot / picnic shelter.
