City of Cambridge TREE GIVE AWAY
Details
In keeping with the goals of the City of Cambridge Urban Forest Management Plan to increase tree canopy in Cambridge, the Forestry Division will give away 150 trees to residents on Saturday, September 26th 2026.
The tree species are native to the local area and are meant for residents to plant on private property. For this giveaway, the species are Sugar maple, Paper birch and Eastern redbud.
Residents will be able to claim a tree by showing up to 102 Sheffield St (Mill Run Trailhead) on Saturday, September 26th between 8am-11am. They will be able to choose one tree per address from the three native tree species being offered, while supplies last. Registration is not required for this Giveaway, but residents will have to show proof of address on site to qualify for a free tree.
This is the ninth tree giveaway the City has done since fall 2022, with more than 1900 trees being given to residents since that time.
