Practise Public Speaking with Confidence | Cambridge Toastmasters

Would you like to speak with greater confidence, express your ideas more clearly or feel more comfortable presenting in front of others?

Join Cambridge Confident Communicators for a friendly, practical Toastmasters meeting—either in central Cambridge or online via Zoom.

Our meetings offer a supportive place to practise public speaking, receive constructive feedback and develop your communication and leadership skills.

You do not need any previous speaking experience, and there is no pressure to speak during your first visit.

What happens at a Toastmasters meeting?

A typical meeting includes:

• Prepared speeches from club members
• Short impromptu speaking activities
• Constructive evaluations and feedback
• Opportunities to practise meeting and leadership roles

There is no instructor. Members learn by doing, support one another and progress at their own pace.

As a guest, you are welcome to observe the meeting or try an impromptu speaking activity if you feel comfortable. We will explain how everything works, so you will not be expected to arrive already knowing the format.

The meeting may be particularly useful if you would like to:

• Feel more comfortable speaking in front of others
• Communicate more clearly at work or in everyday life
• Improve your presentation and leadership skills
• Think and respond more confidently in the moment
• Meet people from a range of backgrounds and professions

We meet on the first floor. Please arrive at around 7.15 pm to meet us and get settled before the meeting begins at 7.30 pm.

The Grand Arcade car park is approximately a ten-minute walk from the venue.

Please join at around 7.20 pm, particularly if this is your first visit, so that we can welcome you and briefly explain the meeting.

Every meeting is hybrid, so you can take part either in the room or online.
