.NET Declarative DevOps, Munging Data at Scale and a quick recap of .NET Conf

Details
Please note this is on a Thursday rather than the usual Wednesday.
This is our last in-person event of the year. We have two speakers, and as this is close to .NET Conf, we'll probably briefly cover any highlights of that conference.
Speaker: Daniel Bradley, Collector of cloud corner cases
Title: .NET Declarative DevOps and into Platform Engineering
Description
In this talk I'll show how to use .NET languages to declare resources then deploy them into the cloud with Azure. I will explain the inner architecture of state-based infrastructure-as-code tools and what the new wave of "platform engineering" is all about. Finally will then explore how to manage evolving cloud setups reliably and keeping complex cloud setup maintainable in code.
Speaker Bio
Daniel is a full time open-source contributor with Pulumi – making clouds more accessible to developers, and making developers more productive.
Speaker: Ali Daw, Gearset
Title: Munging data at scale: What we learned by transforming 250TB of highly available, highly sensitive data...twice
Description
Gearset's data backup tool is a critical data protection service for hundreds of companies using the Salesforce platform. Redesigning the underlying storage format that holds this data to improve performance and storage efficiency and then safely migrating this data whilst maintaining its high availability was a significant, multiyear undertaking. I'll be talking about some of the interesting challenges we faced and some learning points that can be hopefully applied to similar large-scale projects.
Speaker Bio
Ali Daw is a development manager at Gearset, the leading Salesforce DevOps platform. With a background in software engineering, Ali has been building DevOps tools for over 11 years and has led the team building Gearset’s Salesforce backup solution since its inception.
