Come and join us for the first Cambridge Neurodivergent Social meetup.

We’ll be meeting at The Cambridge Blue on Gwydir Street, out the back in the beer garden. It’s covered, so we should be fine even if the weather decides to be very British about it.

This is a low-pressure social for neurodivergent adults in and around Cambridge. You’re welcome whether you’re autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, dyslexic, dyspraxic, formally diagnosed, self-diagnosed, questioning, or just feeling suspiciously seen by the term neurospicy.

There’s no agenda and no forced icebreakers. Just come along, grab a drink if you fancy one, and say hello. It’s completely fine to be quiet at first, dip in and out of the conversation, or only stay for a short while.

A few of us are planning to go along to The Science of AuDHD: Understanding how ADHD & Autism Intersect at Cambridge Junction.

We’ll meet in the bar area at Cambridge Junction at 6pm, around 15 minutes before the talk starts, so we can say hello, grab a drink if people fancy one, and head in together and find our seats.

This is a Seed Talks event exploring how ADHD and autism can overlap, often referred to as AuDHD, and how the lived experience of both together can be very different from ADHD or autism alone.

The talk will look at the hidden similarities between ADHD and autism, the neurobiology behind AuDHD, and how it may affect things like executive function, emotion regulation, sensory processing, burnout, medication, and support strategies.

The speaker is Professor James Brown, an academic researcher and science communicator. There will also be a Q&A after the talk.

Doors open at 6pm and the talk starts at 6:15pm.

Afterwards, anyone who fancies it can stay for a drink and a chat about the talk. We can either use the Junction bar if it’s open, or pick somewhere very close by at Cambridge Leisure Park.
