Join us for a chance to draw the grafton centre and surrounding area before it's gone!

Later this year work will start on demolishing the east end of the grafton centre and replacing it with labs. The shopping centre has been a fixture of Cambridge since it opened in 1984 after controversially demolishing many houses in the kite area. As urban sketchers, this is a chance at local reportage — to document the building before it is forgotten.

We'll meet at the east road entrance at 11am and draw until 1pm when we'll meet back at the entrance to share our work and take a group photo. After that we'll head to the Solea cafe on Norfolk Street for lunch, coffee, and socialising.

The event is free but does not include food, drink, or art materials. Everyone is welcome whether you've just started to draw or have been a professional artist for many years. We look forward to seeing you there.
