Have you always wanted to learn how to draw objects around you but didn’t know how to start? Come to ‘Still life: observe objects with precision’ workshop with Arina Zinoveva who will guide you through the main principles of drawing a still life composition. Together, we will be drawing objects such as mugs and fruit and shading them with led or colour pencils. In this workshop, you will learn about:
1. Principles of 2-point perspective
2. Using oval shapes of various widths to create an illusion of a 3-dimensional object drawn a 2-dimentional surface
3. Understanding how to position diagonal, horizontal and vertical lines on the page to create an illusion of space.
Whether you are new to drawing realistic still life compositions or would like to spend time to hone your skills further, this workshop is for you.
Arina Zinoveva is an artist and an educator based in Cambridge. She holds Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW Sydney, Australia and Graduate Diploma in Education with the specialisations ‘visual arts’ and ‘design.’ She had been teaching art to all ages and abilities since 2015.
