This group is for people looking to take advantage of having such amazing outdoor opportunities right next to us!
To start with we will do beach camping like Double Island Point, Stradbroke Island, Inskip Point, Fraser Island but all of Australia is in scope for us to explore and have fun in.

Advantage of self driven road trip is the absolute best way to explore the Canadian Rockies. We get to see so much and have the flexibility to stop wherever we want. We can see many unique things in small towns that would be missed in a commercial bus tour with 50 people on board. We can also do small hikes at our own pace. Based on 3 person group for 3 weeks, cost is about $220/day per person. It is less than with commercial tours which cost about $5000/p (based on 2 people) for only 10-12 days.

In Feb after a successful New Zealand 3 weeks road trip for 3 people, I am planning Canadian Rockies trip in falls (Sep 2025) for 2-3 weeks and looking for 2 people to share rental car & fuel cost.
Basic Details:
We would travel famous Canadian Rockies region with lakes, snow covered mountains by road and some short walks where possible etc. Itinerary is still in making but open to suggestions for exact date and places to visit.Overview - land at Vancouver, hire a suitable car for 3, travel Rockies as per map.
Cost:
Car rentals/fuel appx $100/day (AWD or 4WD for 3 people when shared)
Motels rooms from $150/d/p (Canada can be more expensive than Oz)
Min cost for above items appx $1750/p/week. Motels with bunk beds will be cheaper though.Food - should be about the same as in OZ. To save cost, we would cook our own food at motels shared kitchen.
Other trips if anyone wants by boat/ferry/bus tours are extra (from $100-$900).
Air ticket: appx between $2500 - $3000. There is direct flight from Brisbane to Vancouver.
Canadian Visa:- Everyone would arrange their own visa and air ticket. If you are serious I will help with it. In the meantime check Canadian Visa website how to get and the cost for your passport. For most passport (for example Australian), it is online, fairly simple, quick and cheap.
Overseas Insurance: It is utmost important that everyone must have their own travel and medical insurance before travel.I am easy going with suggestions & planning, but keep in mind when on ground our plan can change due to weather, road closures and other factors etc. Main aim is to have a good company and enjoy the time there.
