French Creek State Park is part of the Schuylkill Highlands with 7,730 acres, is the largest block of contiguous forest between Wash DC and New York City. The park offers a variety of activities including hiking, fishing, biking and camping. It is also the home to many animals and plants that are rare to this corner of Pennsylvania. Located adjacent to the park is the Hope Furnace Nat’l Historic site which dates back to the 1830’s and has been restored, worth visiting.
