Details
Our next meeting will start at 19:00 (7 pm) on Tuesday 3rd October on Zoom.
Simon Prickett will give a talk:
Redis with Python and MicroPython
Simon Prickett is the Principal Developer Advocate at Redis and will be doing a Redis talk on Python going into streams and MicroPython. He enjoys projects that fuse hardware and software, especially with Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Simon brings experience gained from living and working on three different continents in industries including banking, logistics, IoT and Software as a Service platform development. Find him online at https://simonprickett.dev
And quick talk summary:
In this talk I'll demonstrate a variety of ways that Python developers can incorporate the varied data structures offered by the Redis database into their applications. We'll begin by looking at some CPython use cases before moving to MicroPython. Using code running on a number of Raspberry Pi Pico microprocessors, you'll learn how to capture, consume and monitor fast moving data with Redis Streams. We'll demonstrate a system to manage room service requests at a busy hotel, showing how this powerful data structure can orchestrate complex workflows at speed.
Zoom link provided on the day via email (enable email notifications for Meetup) and Zoom link added to Meetup 1 hour before the meeting starts on event page.
