What we’re about
The Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA) is a Not-for-Profit organization being run by a President and Board of Directors. We have members across Canada.
CATA meets on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday of each month. In a typically meeting a guest speaker will present and field questions from members. After the speaker is finished, members review the markets and discuss specific stocks. Depending on the evening and who is in attendance we look at sectors of strength and weakness, which stocks are breaking out to the upside or downside, get feedback on stocks members are interested in.
For May 2024 Chase Taylor will be presenting on May 14 while Brooke Thackray will be presenting on May 23. A typical meeting is from 8:00 to 10:00 ET or 6:00 to 8:00 MT.
Historically, we have heard from notable traders such as: Larry Williams, Jake Bernstein, Tom McClellan, Tyler Bollhorn, Tom Bowley, Dave Laundry, Don Vialoux and Keith Richards.

DESCRIPTION:
Dwight Galusha - Insights into how I view the market and set stops
Dwight, a technical analyst, will be sharing his approach to setting stops, as well as some broader insights into how he views the market. Over the years, he has developed a systematic, momentum-based approach to identifying setups and uncovering meaningful market signals.
About Dwight
Before launching SetYourStop, he worked as a technical analyst at Osprey Strategic alongside Greg Schnell. His research has been featured in 5i Research, Capital Ideas Media, StockCharts.com, and SmallCapPower. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts (CSTA) now CATA and was granted honorary membership in the Canadian Association for Technical Analysis (CATA).
About SetYourStop:
SetYourStop provides data-driven research for institutional and retail clients. We give our clients the tools they need to make better decisions in the stock market. At SetYourStop, we understand that time is of the essence, which is why our tools are designed to help clients quickly identify opportunities. Our primary focus is on spotting asymmetrical setups that signal potential momentum, regardless of market conditions.
We use advanced algorithms to monitor unusual options activity, insider transactions, and institutional sponsorship, helping uncover setups early—often before they’re widely noticed. Everything we do is focused on identifying the potential for momentum in setups that may be on the verge of asymmetrical moves.
This meeting will be on Thursday July 24, 2025 at 5:00 pm PT, 6:00 pm MT or 8:00 pm ET.
