Lake Del Valle is 5 miles long situated in the golden hills of rural Livermore, a nice spot for flat water paddling. This paddle will be EASY+

This paddle is suitable for people in good physical condition able to paddle 8.5 miles. We will paddle to the Dam then stop along the shore for lunch. After lunch we will return to the dock. A PFD must be worn while on the water.

To keep invasive mussels out of the water, a boat inspection is required! BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THERE IS NO WATER ANYWHERE ON/IN YOUR BOAT, PADDLES, LIFE JACKETS, HATCH COVERS, ETC. If the inspectors find any water on your equipment, you may be denied entry to the lake for that day. Arrive about 9:30 AM to allow time for inspection.

Entry fee Park $6, boat fee: $4; inspection fee: $10. Kind of pricey, but well worth it. Your inspection pass is good for 30 days.

Directions: Del Valle Regional Park is located on Del Valle Road off Mines Road south of Livermore. Exit I-580 eastbound or westbound in Livermore at North Livermore Avenue. Head south and proceed through town (North Livermore Avenue will become South Livermore Avenue in town). About 1.5 miles outside town, turn right at Mines Road, go about 3.5 miles, and continue straight on Del Valle Road (Mines Road turns left). The park entrance is about four miles ahead.

PLEASE READ THIS: The organizers of this trip are not experts, not professional paddlers and do not necessarily have safety training or carry any safety equipment.
