Meet at 8:15 - We start walking at 8:30
We’ll do the 2 rappels then go for a nice picnic spot in a “cave” at the bottom of the lower 15’ Zuma waterfall.

2 rappels - Up to 50'
Mileage - 1.2 round trip

Canyon Logistics:
* All participants must have all required gear to pass through the canyon
Easy beginner’s canyon. Not much experience needed
Water level - Wet. Swim trunks or Bathing suit

Bring:
Hiking Gear:
Backpack. Water. Lunch/snacks. Clothing appropriate to anticipated weather. Hat. Sunscreen.
Recommended: Small First-Aid kit + Emergency Kit.

Gardening:
I expect the canyon will be over-grown after this winter.
* Bring your favorite Bypass Pruners, Hedge Sheers, Saw, Machete or whatever you have.

Canyoneering Gear Must Per Person:
Harness + Rappelling Device, 4-5 Extra Locking Carabiners, Safety Tether. Helmet. Ascending set of your choice. Whistle.
Minimum 10’ of Webbing and 1 Quick-link to help with anchors.

Ropes:
I will bring one 100' rope. We can use another100' for backup

Beta:
For your safety and others: Please be sure to have the Beta and Map of the canyon

TRIP RULES (or Safe & Smart Hiking)
> Leave your trip plan and expected start & finish times with a trusted friend or family member.
> Do what you can to be: Trail ready. Weather ready. Emergency ready.
> Stick together! On the hike’s in and out of the canyon do not walk away from the group, wait for others. If you need to use the (natural) facilities, Let someone know before you disappear.
> While rappelling - DO NOT spread the group over more than 2 waterfalls at a time.

THE FINE PRINT
> This is not a guided trip! Canyoneering is a team sport where every member should be able to rappel well, build new anchors and inspect existing ones, rig for all contingencies, manage ropes efficiently and contribute in every aspect of the adventure. All participants should have appropriate training and/or sufficient previous experience.
> You are responsible for your own and your party’s safety.
