Details
"The Times of Harvey Milk" (1984) is an award-winning documentary chronicling the life and political career of Harvey Milk, San Francisco's first openly gay supervisor, culminating in his assassination and focusing on the community response and his legacy.
With the Department of Defense having recently stripped the "USNS Harvey Milk" (a Navy replenishment oiler) of the posthumous honorific given to him (a Navy veteran) in 2016, we felt it was timely to revisit his life and legacy and do our part to ensure neither are forgotten.
*Note: This film is not rated by the Motion Picture Association,
however Common Sense Media does not recommend it for children under 14. While the assassination is not shown, the build-up and the
aftermath of the crime might be upsetting to some.
