What we’re about

Maybe you passed a few cello exams in school but ended up in the world of finance. Or, you played clarinet regularly in your school orchestra but haven't opened the case in years - although it's on your mind every time you see it in the cupboard... Maybe you sang a few solo items in school, but your life journey took you on a completely different path.

Revitalise your musical journey and join a community of like-minded musicians. Our group is for those who learned music in school and are seeking to improve their skills and rediscover lost techniques. By practising (and occasionally performing) together, you'll have the opportunity to share knowledge, collaborate, and enhance your musical abilities in a supportive and encouraging environment. Don't let your passion for music fade, join us and reignite your love for making music today!

The group aims to combine instrumentalists (or voices) with other amateur accompanists, arrange ad-hoc duos or mini-ensembles and match skill levels in a *no-pressure* environment. You pick the frequency of practices, music, level of difficulty and your collaborators. Although we all want to be better, mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn. Virtuosity would not be discouraged, but it definitely won't be a requirement.

The focus is mainly on the "classical" and jazz realms, with emphasis on those who want to regain technique - but we aim to take a very broad aproach to those realms.

At this stage, we are mainly looking to gauge interest before scheduling any particular meetings. Let us know what your interests and abilities are, as well as roughly where in Cape Town you stay. We'll be very happy to meet you!
