Cape Town Poetry Collective

In the same way that almost anything can be art, almost any combination of words can be poetry. And what is it about poetry that makes it so magical? Its mystery, its wonder, the fact that it can demonstrate both simplicity or intricacy and have the same eventual effect. Telling a story, touching a heart, inspiring a soul or expanding the mind. The possibilities are endless.

With the pen we tell our truths and we express the divine within us. With the poem we see the true endless power of the word. So let’s speak about freedom, of hope, about life. This is the Cape Town Poetry Collective.

The Poetry Collective is a group of people in Cape Town who have a shared love of poetry, either writing it, or reading it. We come together to share either original poems, or poems that have resonated with us.

Group sessions are either centered around a topic, or are miscellaneous. We'll start off with online and see how that goes :)
