Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro spins this incredible tale. Taking place in 1944, during the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, young Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) travels with her pregnant mother to live with her new stepfather, the ruthless Captain Vidal (Sergi López), who is stationed in a remote outpost to crush the last remnants of the resistance. Drawn to an ancient stone labyrinth near their home, Ofelia meets a mysterious faun (Doug Jones) who tells her she is the lost princess of an underground realm. To prove her identity and reclaim her place, she must complete three dangerous tasks, each blurring the line between reality and fantasy.
