About us
This group would meet to discuss the late Mark Fisher's work, our thoughts on it and how it ties into our experiences. Since the first meeting is right before Halloween I was also thinking that there could be discussion about Mark's other book The Weird and The Eerie as well. Future meetings would move onto Ghosts of My Life, K Punk, Flatline Constructs, Postcapitalist Desire, etc.
If you have even a casual interest in the topic, I'd invite you to attend. Don't feel like you need to be a philosophy grad...I'm definitely not. Ever since I was introduced to Fisher's work, there was something about it that really seized me. I think he's a thinker that can really speak to our time and the state of things that we find ourselves in right now, in a world where, as Mark wrote (borrowed from Fredric Jameson) it's "easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of capitalism".
