Yarnventure: Acorn Street Shop

About Acorn Street:
Acorn Street Shop was established in 1979 and began as a New England country store. Soon the needlework department took over and Acorn Street became a full-fledged needlework shop. In 1992, the business moved to its present location, just north of the U-Village, and the merchandise expanded to include supplies for both knitting and crochet. Today the shop focus is in the areas of knitting, crochet, and needlepoint.

How to get there:
I’m leaving the carpooling/rideshare organizing to the folks in the group, but our lunch destination will be no more than a 10-minute walk from Acorn Street.

The closest bus stops are right on NE 55th St and Roosevelt Way NE. You should be able to use routes 62, 79, or 71. Additionally, the U District Light Rail Station is about a 15-minute walk.

Accessibility:
Acorn Street is on a bit of a slope, which can be difficult for some folks with mobility issues. However, the shop is wheelchair accessible and has seating available. Street parking is also available (though it can be difficult to find). Masks are not required.
