CAFES #3: Uptown Espresso (Magnolia) - 40mi - Brisk/Moderate

Details
Cycling in Autumn For Espresso Series (CAFES). Another cycling season draws to a close. Now what? Coffee time! Bring your rain bike and join me for six rides in six weeks from South Bellevue. We ride to a different coffee shop each time. Mileage will taper down to get you ready for winter hibernation. This series was inspired by the Coffeeneuring Challenge (http://chasingmailboxes.com/category/coffeeneuring/), a call for riders everywhere to relax and get a cup of coffee after training hard all season. Route http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3207497
40 miles, 3200 feet
Grab the cue sheet (http://files.meetup.com/3386582/SBPR_Green_Lake_Magnolia_Mercer_Hills.pdf)
This is a tour of Seattle's urban greenways with plenty on-street riding in traffic. In other words, a much different kind of ride than the previous in the series.
Alternate Route in case of continued government shutdown. Needed because the locks would stay closed to bicycle traffic. GPS users, please load both routes: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3539728
Destination Uptown Espresso (Magnolia) (http://www.yelp.com/biz/uptown-espresso-seattle-11)
3223 W McGraw St
Seattle, WA 98199
Two Paces this week: High Brisk led by James Coliz and Moderate led by Rob Latino. Still plenty of good climbing either way, and we'll wait at the top so you can climb at your own pace.
Long fenders are absolutely required unless it is bone dry out, and zero percent chance of rain forecast. Check the weather (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?hourly=1&query=98006&yday=292&weekday=Sunday) for updates.
No weather cancellation whatsoever. Pounding rain or white-out blizzard conditions will cause us to shorten the ride to a closer coffee shop.
Route changes will be finalized by Wednesday morning before the ride, and cue sheets posted.
Regroups will be occasional, though not at every turn, so please bring a cue sheet or load the route on GPS.
Mechanicals are the responsibility of each rider, so we will generally not ask the entire group to wait. Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change flat and handle whatever else comes up.
Mentoring is available. Leave a comment below if you're interested, and do know the route of course.
