Brisk/Vigorous Pace Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/11024545 ; 49 miles, 2,600ft elevation gain. Rest-room stop @ 15 miles, Rest-stop @ 32 miles (BRING a SNACK!)

Cue-sheets are not provided; please print your copy. Long fenders are mandatory if the roads are wet or there is rain in the forecast (please!!).

It is a little ways for some, but this is a favorite rural route, so come along. At the start there is a restroom. Once we are out of Marysville, you will see many references to the fact that we on tribal land: The Tulalip Reservation. The route heads north to Warm Beach. For 'emergencies' there is a grocery store in Warm Beach at mile 18. Enjoy the view of Puget Sound. The route heads east for another hill, but then levels of around the Arlington Airport and we finally land at our official rest stop at mile 32 (hence the suggestion to bring a snack along). The Steady/Moderate paces will head south, the Brisk/Vigorous paces will pick up the Centennial Trail with a long but gentle grade. It is a rather quiet section so we'll likely have it all to ourselves (on our pre-ride we saw a deer).

Paces: Steady (12-14 mi/h), Moderate (14-16 mi/h), Brisk (16-18 mi/h) and Vigorous (18-20 mi/h). If you are new to the Free Group Rides, please read an introductions here: https://www.cascade.org/welcome-newcomers

Registration: Your registration on the Cascade.org website is appreciated: https://www.cascade.org/node/39350

You don't need to be a member of the club to create an account. If you have any questions about this process, just contact the series director.

Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to check off your name or sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having long fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:00 am in the comment section. In that case the ride leaders will not be at the start.

Series director: Dorothé Reijnders, dorothe.nl@gmail.com

We encourage riders to become ride leaders! If you have questions, please ask. For those who have done the class and are interested in doing a mentored ride, please contact Dorothé Reijnders for a great opportunity this week!
