Bay View-Fairhaven-Chuckanut Dr. Steady, 51miles, 2064 ft. gain

Favorite ride for this leader. It is a long drive, but ride is worth it.

Classic Erin and Bill Woods ride from Bay View State Park to Fairhaven. Ride starts at Bay View State Park beach parking lot. Turn into park entrance and take the first left. Discovery pass required. Park on streets in Bay View and cycle to start, if you do not have the Discovery Pass.

We will cycle through farmland along Joe Leary slough before heading north to Lake Samish. There will be a brief stop at Lake Samish Park, for restrooms and water before climbing the one major hill of the ride. Lunch will be in Fairhaven, after a wonderful descent on the Old Samish Hwy. Rolling along Chuckanut Dr on the water side of the road will take us back to Bay View. Enjoy the views at the numerous pullouts. If you are not riding ultra light, think about stopping at Bread Farm in Edison to purchase a loaf of bread made from all local products, including the wheat.

Showers cancel: Ride will be cancelled three hours prior to start if weather is wet. Carpooling encouraged. Email leader or check the registrations to see if you can carpool with another person on ride.
