International District-SODO History Ride (Leisurely 10-12 mph, 12.9 miles, 563')

Details
Ride Description:
This will be a history ride to visit and learn facts about various historic and interesting sites around the International District and SODO. We will meet above the International District/Chinatown light rail station on the brick area at the end of King St. off 5th Ave (505 5th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104). Parking can be found in parking lots/garages nearby. The Link light rail and First Hill Streetcar are the easiest ways to arrive at the start, and multiple bus lines serve the area.
We will first head through Japantown and Chinatown before crossing the Jose Rizal Bridge for a restroom stop. After that, we will ride on the I-90 Trail before getting to Little Saigon. After crossing back into Chinatown, we will explore parts of SODO before venturing onto Harbor Island. Once there, we will return via E Marginal Way to King St and eventually the end. There are a total of 16 stops on this ride during which the ride leader will give a few details about the history/geography/etc.
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to ride start (i.e. arrive at 8:30). Please sign the electronic waiver by creating a free account on the Cascade website. Please bring basic tools (extra tubes, patch kit, etc.) as well as water and snacks, as it may be warm that day. Have a back-up plan in case you are unable to finish (friend/family who can pick you up, ORCA card to use public transit).
Cancellations: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start location. Cue sheets will not be provided, please print one if desired. Restrooms: there are restrooms near the start at Union Station, Dr. Jose Rizal Park (mile 1.3), and the Starbucks Building (mile 7.7).
E-bikes: This is an e-bike-friendly ride for those with Class 1 or Class 2 e-bikes (Class 3 e-bikes are not allowed because we will be riding on some trails). See the Cascade Ebike FAQ’s link for more information. Be sure to have your battery/power pack fully charged before you arrive for the ride.
