What we’re about
Cascade STEAM is a newly forming nonprofit organization dedicated to improving STEAM Education, Career Connected Learning, Digital Literacy, and Digital Equity for all people of all ages.
STEAM is an acronym for the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. STEAM education is a powerful framework to promote curiosity and creativity, encourage a shared learning experience, and build tools to solve important life challenges. We advocate through development and promotion of events, activities, and programs, and invite collaboration with community partners in shared purpose.

Upcoming events (1)See all
- Cascade STEAM Data Engineering - AI/LLMParks Hall, Bellingham, WA
In our 2nd Data-Engineering group discussion on Thursday March 14th, we will present a hands-on demonstration of a basic implementation of a local language model (LLM) and how to customize it using a simple RAG* application. This session will focus on demos and will also include a Q&A session afterwards. If you have Wi-Fi access on campus, we encourage you to bring your laptop and follow along. The potential to utilize local language models is quite exciting.
*RAG-Retrieval Augmented Generation
The objective of these discussions is to foster engagement and collaboration among participants, with a focus on promoting the adoption and understanding of AI technology. The majority of our time will be dedicated to open discussions where participants can share their experiences and insights on how their respective organizations are currently implementing or contemplating the implementation of this exciting technology.
Space is limited for this session, so please sign up and reserve a seat. We are working on obtaining a location for our next session that can accommodate more people.
NOTE: Meeting location shared at the Cascade STEAM Community Hub (Discord) in the #data-engineering channel.
