A New Way to Run Cassandra

For this meetup we are excited to be joined by Ben Whitehead, Distributed Applications Engineer at Mesosphere.

What You'll Learn At This Meetup:

In this talk we will show you how Cassandra on Mesos ( http://mesosphere.github.io/cassandra-mesos/ ) and Docker enables you to build containerized applications for both stateless services and analytical purposes. First we will cover Mesos and DCOS, then jump into Cassandra framework design and the API exposed for management. We will conclude with a demo running a containerized app on DCOS using Cassandra for its persistence.

About Ben Whitehead:

Ben Whitehead is a Distributed Applications Engineer at Mesosphere where Ben he works on the backend for tools Mesosphere is building around Apache Mesos. Prior to Mesosphere, Ben was evangelizing the move to distributed systems and service oriented architectures as well as building a system to run JUnit tests in a distributed compute grid while working at Goldman Sachs. For fun Ben likes to tinker with and learn about new technology, software development patterns and architecture, play video games, and visit new places.
