Every month, Oakland Kids First hosts a volunteer work day at the Castlemont Farm & Garden to support our amazing students and help build a future where they can thrive. At the farm, our students learn vital life skills that will help them flourish after graduation and teach them how to become self-sufficient. These monthly volunteer days are designed to ease our students' workload and support them on their learning journey.
This work day is sponsored by Civic Design Studio, The Rose Foundation, Elevate Oakland and Oakland Promise.
We'll spend the day weeding, mulching, transplanting, seeding, and working on the chicken run. You can also catch water quality monitoring demos hosted by New Voices Are Rising.
Please wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Remember to bring water and a pair of gloves if you have them.
