Recommended Stories:
- Black-Eyed Women

- Fatherland (available online from the author's site here)
For June, we'll read Viet Thanh Nguyen, a writer I was lucky enough to see speak in early April, and who will be giving another talk in late April! This collection comes highly recommended from a trusted source, so I'm sure it will lead to some great discussion - Ben
For First-Timers: We recommend reading at least one story in the collection, but feel free to read as little or as much as you'd like! Discussion is open, informal, and covers the whole collection, but we try to focus on the recommended stories listed above.
About the collection:
The Refugees is Nguyen’s debut collection of short stories. It arrived carrying the considerable weight of expectation following The Sympathizer's triumph. The collection delves into the lives of individuals caught between worlds—Vietnam and America, past and present, memory and reality. These stories were composed over a period of twenty years.
