What is CatchIT?
This meetup is the first international, community-centered event designed to connect locals and internationals through open conversation, knowledge sharing, and cultural exchange. Each session offers engaging talks from professionals working with Webstar and student speakers, creating space for authentic exchange, learning, and networking. The format is intentionally relaxed and inclusive, encouraging participants to practice English, gain insight into the software and business world by connecting across cultures. Over time, the series aims to build a vibrant, supportive community around shared curiosity and collaboration in tech.
Purpose
The purpose of the series is to build a vibrant local tech community in Pécs by creating a welcoming, international space for mutual learning, cultural exchange, and language practice. It offers students valuable, hands-on insights into the tech industry while also showcasing emerging talent. At its heart, the series aims to build bridges—between professionals and students, local and international voices, and between fresh ideas and real-world opportunities in technology.
The series would not have been possible without the support of Webstar Csoport Ltd.
The venue of the series is h6todik | CCI Pécs-Baranya Office Building, 6th floor I 7625 Pécs, Majorossy Imre u. 36.

Márk Virág MD /Business Lead@Webstar/: Agile vs Waterfall in Practice
This session is about how project management really works in software development. We’ll look at Agile and Waterfall, not just in theory but in the way they play out day-to-day. As an IT project manager, I’ve seen that projects rarely follow one method strictly. Instead, we mix and match—creating hybrid models that actually work. I’ll show you how I’ve done this and what I’ve learned along the way.Sámuel Pátri, Rafael Akaró, Olivér Németh /iEXPO project/: UnPlugMate
UnPlugMate is a new application that tracks screen time and is enriched with a built-in AI to allow users to establish healthier digital habits and make the process fun and social. It does not merely track the use of the devices but incorporates individual mood settings, which react to the screen time habits of a user and the goals that they choose to set. The app makes self-discipline an enjoyable, game-like process, as its progress can be attributed to real-life feedback. The difference in UnPlugMate is its social connection. Users also have the ability to add friends so that they may share their progress, compare their results, and even receive pre-generated friendly or playful messages about each other screen time. To add an element of motivation to those who respond well to competition, each week a competitive leaderboard is drawn to show who has spent the least time on their devices. This social layer promotes the responsibility and lessens the process of decreasing the screen time to a more collaborative endeavor.
The AI character in the app serves as a personal coach and motivator and opens up new achievements, appearance options, and text interactions when users achieve their goals. This strategy gamifies the progress and makes abstract targets tangible milestones. UnPlugMate combines behavioral tracking, AI-based engagement, and a lively social setting so that, instead of simply reducing screen time, the user redefines their relationship with technology in a manner that is sustainable, interactive, and fun.
