Catholic Charities Annual Jessie Games

Details
The traditional Jessie Games are back! We’re looking for volunteers to help make this year’s Games an incredible day of joy and fun for area families. The Jessie Games are a wonderful opportunity for children to cope with the stresses in their lives through play and by simply being with other children. In addition to providing fun and games for children, including those of Catholic Charities’ clients, this year the Jessie Games will welcome child refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.
Come and volunteer for a shift or for the whole day. T-Shirts are provided to all volunteers.
Shifts are as follows:
10 AM to 12 Noon – Setup: Volunteers will help set up the games and sports activities, and other preparations for the event.
12 to 1 PM – Orientation for volunteers who will be helping for the games. (You MUST attend orientation, before the main event).
1 to 4 PM – Events: Volunteers will be asked to help manage the sports games and carnival activities while interacting with the children, promoting safety and organization during the day of fun. We will also ask for volunteers to assist with registration and the distribution of snacks, drinks, and goodie bags to families in attendance. Each child will also receive a backpack at the event this year.
4-5 PM – Teardown: Volunteers will help tear down, clean up and pack up all items from the event.
Please also call Joe @ 412-921-1556 to let him know you are attending, and the shift you prefer to work. (Most of our members will be at the main, games portion of the event)
Note: Catholic Charities now requires all volunteers working with children to have clearances. These may be obtained through your parish. They must be submitted to the Catholic Charities office before Aug 9th , by emailing them to: volunteer@ccpgh.org. Ask/message Joe for specifics.
** NOTE: There may be more people in attendance than have RSVP'd on Meetup **
