Hi, our names are Charles, Yajie and Maggie, and we are. the organisers of the Chinese Business and Social Network (CBSN)
The goal of the Chinese Business and Social Network is to build a unique business community to introduce you to new business relationships related to Chinese in London and globally, and to enhance connectivity. This group aims to provide opportunities for members to cross-promote their businesses to each other. We hope this will help you network locally and internationally as well as explore new Chinese business opportunities and encourage the formation of strategic partnerships with business owners related to China.
Think of it as a small business incubator. Please do help this group to connect you with other members, give each other support and brainstorm business ideas. Since many of us work on our own, it's really vital to connect with other like-minded business professionals. We hope making new connections at the group’s events is a starting point for growing your business.
Making sure you follow up with those new contacts is what helps you become successful and achieve your goals.

Joining is entirely optional. Please go to Photos. Find the 'CBSN students. Join our WeChat Group' image and scan the QR code. Request to join. Mia or one of the other organisers will approve you.Make new friends and settle into London life at this relaxed autumn picnic for students. Join us for an afternoon picnic in Hyde Park, one of London's most beautiful green spaces, right beside the Serpentine lake.
Bring a blanket, and a snack or drink to share if you like. The picnic is free, and aimed at ages 18 to 28.
CBSN brings together students, new arrivals, professionals and internationally minded people with an interest in UK–China life, culture and connection. Our events are open to people of all nationalities and backgrounds.
Whether you'd like to:- Meet other new students and make friends before term really begins
- Get the practical basics sorted, from Oyster cards and contactless to the cheapest ways to travel (railcards, off-peak times and the daily fare cap)
- Learn the money-saving tricks: student discounts like UNiDAYS and TOTUM, cheap eats, and where to find Chinese supermarkets and the ingredients you miss from home
- Sort the essentials: a good-value phone SIM, opening a UK bank account, and registering with a GP
- Understand day-to-day London, from staying safe at night to the apps that make life easier
- Ask anything at all about settling in, from people who studied or worked here before you
• Or simply relax on the grass, share some snacks, and feel a little more at home

A community, not just a one-off
Your CBSN experience doesn't end when the picnic does. We'll also start a group chat on the day, so no one heads home without a few new friends.
Where to meet
Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, Hyde Park. Please arrive between 2:00 and 2:20 PM and look for the CBSN team in blue lanyards outside the café.
At 2:20 we'll walk onto the lawn beside the lake together. There are toilets, a café and indoor shelter right here, so we're fine rain or shine.
Nearest stations: Hyde Park Corner, Lancaster Gate and Marble Arch.
Good to know
Afterwards, a few of us may head to a nearby pub, so let us know on the day if you'd like to join.
