CCMF Alberta History
Canadian Centre for Men and Families (CCMF) Calgary has been operating for five years as the local branch of our National charity, which was incorporated in 2013. Our mission is to provide support services for men and their children are struggling due to intimate relationship breakdown and turmoil. Examples of our programs include men’s peer support groups, legal assistance and resources, domestic abuse recovery programs, 1-on-1 counselling, and other such services. All programs are developed in response to client needs and in consultation with a Registered Psychologist. These programs help equip men to manage stressful situations and minimize the chance of escalation to acute mental health crisis. Improved mental health for these men includes reduced suicide, optimal parenting outcomes, and reduced family violence. Improving men’s mental health makes them better dads, safer workers, and more engaged contributing members of their communities.
