Communion through Dance - The Art of Nonverbal Communication

Our event will be focused on the art of partnered mindful improvised "dance."
We will be learning and practicing the art of listening deeply toL
self and other.
From that place we will:
Discover/allow the next natural "dance" move to unfold (Improvisation)
While in contact and connection with a dance partner. (Contact).
Hence this art is often called Contact Improvisation
I put the word dance in quotes because so often dance means "looking good' or "busting a sweet move."
Sweet moves will happen- but not through trying to make them happen.... instead we will instead focus on:
~getting into a flow state,
~connecting with others who are in a flow state
~and allowing effortless creation
together.

Most people find Contact Improv very nourishing and restorative and afterwards feel like they've had some unique combination of:
a great massage,
a yoga class,
a joyous meditation,
a great platonic hug
and healing session.
People of all levels welcome.
For newcomers- you will be introduced to the basic principles of the art.
For those with more experience, there will be specific exercises to help you to go deeper.
We'll do through guided dance experiences exercises, then an open time where we practice together.
Sundays- weekly, 5pm-6:30pm

I am a longtime mover- having delved deeply into Martial Arts, Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, and Contact Improv
I find SO much joy in sharing Contact Improv- because it really is less about teaching and more about supporting people in discovering a new way to be authentic, while in connection with others.
I have been doing contact since 1999 and teaching since 2021.
When not dancing or teaching, I laugh as much as possible, pray and meditate and create online content. I love time in nature, being of service and studying, practicing and integrating different Wisdom Traditions. My deepest passion is conscious relating/connecting and Contact Improv is an amazing way to do this and empower people to stay connected to themselves while connected to others.
