The Circle Within
A Shamanic Circle Art Process for Healing and Perception Shift
Facilitated by Gwendolyn Natusch, B.S.Ed., M.Ed., MSW

The circle has long been a sacred symbol of wholeness, transformation, and our continuing return to center. In this experiential workshop, we will combine shamanic journeying, reflection, journaling, and symbolic art to explore a personal wound, belief, emotion, or pattern that is ready to be seen differently and transformed.

Art skills are not required, but your imagination is called to join the journey!

You will reflect, share and listen withing. Then, you will create two circular images. The first will give form to the perception or experience asking to be witnessed. Through guided shamanic journeying, you will invite Spirit to reveal new understanding, healing, and possibility. The second circle will express the transformed perception and the wisdom that emerges from the process. Through this process one can see anew and be anew as healing manifests and inner peace grows.

This is not about artistic ability or creating perfect artwork. It is about allowing color, shape, and symbol to speak the language of the soul.
Sometimes the deepest parts of us do not speak first in words.
They speak through color, shape, landscape, animal, memory, movement, empty space, and symbol. They speak much as dreams do, revealing pieces of our inner experience that the thinking mind may not yet understand.

The Circle Within is an experiential workshop combining shamanic journeying, Jungian symbolic exploration, dreamwork-inspired reflection, journaling, and intuitive art-making.
Carl Jung understood the mandala, or sacred circle, as a symbol of the Self and the psyche’s movement toward greater wholeness. Circular images frequently appeared in the dreams and visions he studied, especially during periods of inner transition and psychological change.

During this workshop, you will create two circle images.
The first circle will give visible form to an emotion, wound, belief, recurring story, relationship pattern, or life experience that is asking to be witnessed.
You will then approach your image as you might approach a dream. Rather than deciding immediately what it means, you will notice its atmosphere, symbols, colors, relationships, movement, and emotional qualities.

Through guided reflection and a shamanic journey, you will invite Spirit to reveal:

• What has been hidden
• What the pattern may have been protecting
• What needs compassion or understanding
• What new perception is ready to emerge
• What wisdom or medicine may be carried forward

The second circle will become an expression of the changed perception. It may reveal greater freedom, compassion, strength, understanding, possibility, or peace. The difficulty may not disappear, but your relationship with it may begin to change.
No artistic ability is required. This is not about creating perfect or beautiful artwork. It is about creating inner artwork that tells you a story that lives within you that has long to be heard by you.
